Dr. Steven M. Lash has specialized in the practice of orthodontics at West Bloomfield, Michigan
for many years. He received his BS degree from Wayne State University, his DDS degree from
the University of Detroit, and his MS degree in Orthodontics from the University of Michigan.
He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and has been recognized as a
fellow of the American College of Dentists. Dr. Lash is also a member of the College of
Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. Diplomate status is a distinction that less
than 30% of all orthodontists earn.
Having taught on the faculties of the University of Detroit and the University of Michigan, Dr. Lash has a special interest in the treatment of patients with severe dental-facial or cranio-facial deformities (cleft lip and palate, orthognathic surgery) and he has written and lectured extensively on this topic. He is currently Consulting Orthodontist for the Craniofacial and Cleft Palate Diagnostic Clinic at Institute for Craniofacial Surgery in Southfield, Michigan. He also served as a State Board Examiner in Orthodontics for the Michigan Department of Licensing and Professional Regulation. This position required him to examine graduate orthodontists for certification as a Michigan orthodontist. Dr. Lash also served on the Board of Directors and is past president of the Michigan Orthodontic Alumni Association.
Dr. Lash and his wife Carol have three children and reside in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He is an avid woodworker and enjoys reproducing 18th century American furniture. Visit SAPFM.org and view the gallery.
